International Artist: Inge H. Schmidt International Artist: Inge H. Schmidt was born in East Germany where she studied painting at the College of Arts in Berlin. Inge H. Adolf Dehn’s Tales of Guy de Maupassant Adolf Dehn’s Tales of Guy de Maupassant Presented by McNay Art Museum at McNay Art Museum January 25-May 6, 2012 In 1945, Random House commissioned Adolf Dehn to illustrate a new edition of Guy de Maupassant’s most famous short stories. Considered a father of the modern short story, Maupassant wrote works full of plots twists along with a great deal of irony.
