Add Review/Comment
The Institute of Texan Cultures will host “Dance with the Dead,” a Halloween masquerade, inviting guests to dress as their favorite departed Texan.
“Dance with the Dead” will feature music, dance, hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar. Guests will hear accounts of eerie paranormal happenings at the Institute of Texan Cultures and ghost stories not for the faint of heart.
The museum wants this to be an opportunity for visitors to enjoy an entertaining evening and to look at the many intriguing and eccentric characters in Texas history. If you’re at a loss for who you might be, consider:
Tejano Juan Seguin fought on the side of the Texans in the 1830s, only to return to the Mexican army in the 1840s. Soldier-turned-actor Audie Murphy was a hero in World War II and went on to star several movies, including his own life story. Criminals Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were Texans. Texas was also home to musicians Buddy Holly and Janis Joplin; and actors and actresses including Jayne Mansfield and Farrah Fawcett.
