Third Coast Rhythm Project presents a buffet of international and nationally acclaimed rhythm masters in a 4 day extravaganza of American Tap Dance and Contemporary Percussive Arts. This unique annual event attracts dancers of all ages, choreographers, educators, musicians and rhythm explorers from around the globe every summer to study, share, and hone their craft.
The festival, now in it’s 15th season, takes place July 19 - 22 in The Alamo City, and includes 58 workshop classes including choreography series, a youth program, jam session , film showings, participant showcase, and a one of a kind gala concert featuring the distinguished guest artists, the Mark Rubinstein Jazz Trio, and Percussionist Jai Roots.
The roster of international and nationally acclaimed artists features America’s first lady of tap “Lady Di” Dianne Walker, Tapestry Dance Company’s Acia Gray, Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s Lane Alexander, Chicago’s Jus’Listen artistic director Martin Tre’ Dumas, Vegas Performer Jay Fagan, STOMP’s Lisa La Touche, Tri-Tone artistic director Tasha Lawson, Rumba Tap’s Max Pollak, Easton PA’s Nicole Hockenberry and Third Coast founder and artistic director Barbara Phillips.
